It's raining...again!

"It's raining; it's pouring.  The old man is snoring."  (Though I doubt "he" could sleep through this whipping wind!)  "Rain drops keep falling on my head."  "It never rains in California, but girl, don't they warn ya?  It pours, man it pours."  "I'm singing in the rain."  Sensing a theme here?

The wind was whipping around our building so hard last night, several times I wondered if we were getting a snow storm.  I know, I know, it doesn't get below 50 degrees F here, but my sleep-addled brain associates loud, howling wind with snow...and lots of it.  Much to my snow-loving disappointment, it only mean rain, rain, and more rain here.  Last night it was sideways rain.  I honestly don't remember the last day we had without at least one major cloudburst in the past two weeks.  Most of the days have been dark, windy, and very, very wet.  We now have a lovely tropical storm off the coast, which is responsible for the high winds and even more rain.  No folks, it's not rainy season again - it's now an unusually wet typhoon season.

So what better way to cheer up my soaking wet day than to share our photos of the gorgeous sunset we watched from the Sea Wall four weeks ago?

We were happy to find that they have finished construction on lengthening our Sunabe Sea Wall.

There are a number of new covered seating areas.

And we can now walk the Sea Wall far enough South to see American Village.  Believe me, it's quite a nice walk.  And quite pretty, too.  (The big building towards the center of the photo is The Beach Tower hotel in American Village.)

The Ferris Wheel and back side of the Sega building.  If you look closely, you can see the red of the Double Decker pub under the big white "Sea Side Bowl" sign on the side of the Sega building.

Unfortunately, there is a significant enough sized inlet that makes walking all the way over to American Village very unappealing.  Plus, the Sea Wall doesn't go that far.  (Hats off to my Daddy for having our lengthy walk as PART of his running route while he visited here.  As for me, I'll stick to my walking only as far as the Sea Wall goes.)

There were many people out on the Sea Wall to enjoy the sunset with us.  (Back in the good ole days, when it wasn't raining ALL THE TIME.  But we're not thinking about that, we're thinking happy, sunshiny thoughts!)

I loved watching this grandma and grandson fishing off the Sea Wall.

Gorgeous Okinawa sunset!

Sing along with me now, "It's gonna be a bright, bright, sunshiny day!"  (Or at least in my mind!)  Hope you all are having a happy week and are staying dry!  :)
