Big bugs, tiny birds?

This is the best photo I could snap of this little thing. It was really happy with these flowers.

This is the best photo I could snap of this little thing. It was really happy with these flowers.

Okay, we've posted about the very, very large bats on Base and the very large bugs on our screen.  Are you starting to see a pattern?  I thought I was too until our walk to see the sunset this evening.  On our way, we found...well, we think it was a hummingbird.  It was definitely the tiniest hummingbird I've ever seen, if it was indeed a hummingbird.  I tried to snap a few photos, but once my flash turned on, the little guy got a bit possessive of his flowers (I think he thought I was going to post the directions to his private garden so all the other little flying creatures could find it) and took several diving runs at us.  We quickly decided to finish our walk to the Sea Wall and got some photos of the sunset.  So, big bats, big bugs, and small birds...who woulda thunk?

Check out that sunset!

Kayakers chasing the sun.

Kayakers chasing the sun.

Brandon and I went down to the Sea Wall to watch the sunset.  What a gorgeous display of water, clouds, and color!  Absolutely gorgeous!  Though photos can't do justice, I wanted to share these with you.  You're always welcome to come visit us and experience the real thing!

Goodbye, Gimli, goodbye!

Waiting by the door...

Waiting by the door...

Gimli's new family met us last night and took Gimli back to their loving home.  Re-homing Gimli has been an incredibly challenging decision for Brandon and me to make, but for the sake of both humans and dog, we felt it was in everyone's best interest that he find a different, wonderful home.  It was a very, very difficult decision and a tearful goodbye, but we are confident he will be well-loved.

Happy 4th of July!

We had a wonderful 4th of July!  We were invited to a BBQ upstairs and enjoyed lots of wonderful food, made some new friends, and watched fireworks from the rooftop.  All-in-all, a very fun Fourth!  Hope you all have fun celebrating, too!

Here's the drill...

Gimli tells Brandon,

Gimli tells Brandon, "A little to the left; a little more!"

Brandon was so excited to finally get his drill in the mail (after over a month of waiting) so he could finally get the surround sound speakers up on the wall! Gimli even tried to help him a few times before deciding to “supervise” from the floor.

That evening, we also went up on our apartment building roof to watch the gorgeous sunset! The clouds were spectacular! The photos don’t really do it justice, but we had to try to share!
