Renaissance Resort Beach

Say

Say "cheezu!"

Last weekend, Megumi and her husband, Roger, invited us to go along with their group to the beach at the Renaissance Resort, a ways up Rt. 58.  We had a wonderful time and couldn't have asked for a nicer day!  It was hot and humid enough to enjoy a swim, but not have the humidity be overly oppressive like it has been the majority of the summer.

Bang on the drums all night long!

For the last couple nights we have heard the drums and singing of the Eisa performers as they go up and down the streets near our apartment.  They are doing this in celebration of Obon, more info on Obon below, which lasts for three days here in Okinawa.

The first night we heard them we went down and took a few photos and videos of them as they preformed.

Hey look a....Squirrel?!

Congrats, you have all made it half way through the week and we are that much closer to the weekend!

This last weekend we talked to Jesse, Ana, and Dick on Skype.  I took that opportunity to snap a quick screen capture of Jesse's reaction to something Dick was showing him online.  Which then I took and squirrelized it!

You can also find a squirrelized picture of when Arielle and I were at the Okinawa Zoo.

Okinawa Aquarium squared...

Having fun after a great day at the Aquarium! Smile!

Having fun after a great day at the Aquarium! Smile!

We're still playing a bit of catch up from last weekend.  After such a wonderful evening with Aria Asia on Saturday, we braved the heat and humidity to head up to the Aquarium for our second time!  One of my friends from Geneva College has been stationed on the island with the Marines since we've been here.  The three of us have got to hang out a few times, which has been nice.  Charlie is headed back to the States now, so we wanted to do something exciting for our last time together here.  Where better to have fun than the Aquarium?!
