Day 1.....

To summarize the events of ...all of which are true... today

1. Backing up to the previous night Arielle's suitcase arrived in Tokyo broken.  One of the latches is cracked and will no longer close.  However, the airline is planning to either fix or replace as long as we drop it back off or have them come pick it up.

2. We started today at 6:20 AM after getting to bed around midnight after 22+ hrs of travel...

3. We drove around looking at cars to attempt to find one that we like...  After finding one, we decided to go grab lunch and drive by one other used car lot.  Upon arriving back at the used car lot to get the car we liked we discover the car is now SOLD!  Right after we left the lot someone came up and bought it.

And Away We.....Go!

Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin' until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.
Happy trails to you, 'till we meet again.
Some trails are happy ones,
Others are blue.
It's the way you ride the trail that counts,
Here's a happy one for you.

Farewell TV You will be Missed!

As sit here watching the last of our stuff get moved into the truck to be put on the "slower" shipment.  I bid my 50" tv goodbye in hopes that it too will make it to Japan in one piece. ...waits for a large CRASH...

I think the hardest thing about moving to seeing other people pack your stuff.

If you want to see me stressed out...have someone pack my electronics for me where I cannot do it myself!

As a side note, its pretty quiet out there...

Keep 'em doggies movin'!

Brandon's parents, brother Dustin, and Dick helped us move our furniture out of the apartment and into Dustin's spare room for storage Monday night.  It was about 9 degrees outside as we loaded and unloaded the Budget truck.  We were so incredibly greatful for all the help! Thank you!

The apartment is starting to look bare.  The mover/appraiser that came yesterday asked if we were practicing living in Japan, as we still had a large screen TV, but no couch or chairs in the living room.  hehehe

Brandon's work had a wonderful farewell luncheon for him yesterday!  I was sooooo proud!!!  They presented him with a wall hanging with a photo of his building, their well wishes and signatures of co-workers, two patches related to his work, and an engraved plaque with his name and years of service.  It was such a wonderful gift and we can't wait to hang it on our wall in Japan!  Again, I was soooo proud of him!!!
